BRAHAM BUILDING AND ZONING

The City of Braham Building and Zoning Department helps to ensure the safety of residents within the City limits of Braham by enforcing the cities and state's uniform building codes. Braham's Building Inspector Marshall Lind is responsible for issuing building permits and performing required inspections.  A. $50.50 fee is assessed for all residential projects involing re-roofing, re-siding, and decks. Residents are strongly encouraged to use only licensed contractors. Lind stresses the importance of using a licensed, bonded and insured contractor, so residents are not liable for any injuries received by non-licensed workers.  For remodeling projects to existing homes, Lind encourages homeowners to drop by with plans for the project, in order to ensure the projects meets the codes.  There is no fee for the review of plans for a remodeling project. Any resident considering a basement remodeling project should be aware of the fact that a (egress) window is very likely required. Permit fees for new construction and other projects are based on the value of the project. For more information residents may call the Building and Zoning Department at City Hall 396-3383.
