CITY OF BRAHAM ANIMAL CONTROL

ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER  GEORGE

ANIMAL CONTROL NOTICE

Effective January 1, 2006, the pick up fees for dogs and cats will increase to $25.00 per pick up, and $15.00 per day for holding.  Once the City picks up an animal, the owner will have to pay $25.00, $5.00 surcharge, provide proof of vaccination (or prepay the vet for the vaccinations), and pay a $15.00 per day holding fee before the City will release the pet.  If the pet does not have a City license at the time it is picked up, there is also a $10.00 City license fee.  If the animal is picked up again in 30 days the fee will double.

To protect the rights of all property owners, the City actively patrols and enforces animal control . The City urges all pet owners to make every effort to restrain their pets from running loose.  Property owners should not have to deal with strays defecating and urinating in their yards or disrupting their own pets that are trained to stay in their yards.

Animal licenses are free at City Hall if applied for before the City picks the animal up.  Proof of vaccinations are required.

Also, having more than two dogs or two cats requires a kennel license, to be applied for at City Hall.

The complete Animal Control Ordinance is available for review at the Administrator's Office at City Hall.
