Departments
Administration
The City’s Administration Department manages the day-to-day operations that keep the city running efficiently. The department also oversees the City’s general policies and procedures and conducts elections.
Finance
The City’s finances are also part of the Administration Department. Administration staff are responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and utility billing. The department prepares and monitors the City’s annual budget, cash management, investments, and works with our financial partners to prepare the City’s long-range financial plan. The Administration Department works with City Council and departments to make reliable management decisions to achieve the departments goals and objectives while maintaining the integrity of the City’s long-range financial goals.
Building and Zoning
The Building and Zoning Department helps to ensure the safety of residents within the city limits of Braham by enforcing the City's and the State's uniform building and zoning codes. Marshall Lind, the City Building Official is responsible for issuing building permits, collecting applicable fees and performing the required inspections for the City of Braham, City of Grasston, Chengwatana Township & Royalton Township.
Fire
The Braham Fire Department proudly serves and protects residents in the City of Braham, City of Grasston, and all or part of the townships of Grass Lake, Maple Ridge, Nessel, Royalton, and Stanchfield. Our volunteer department is a 16 member, paid on-call department.
The mission of the Braham Fire Department is to minimize the loss of life and property in the Braham Fire Department protection area from fire, accident, natural disaster and any life threatening situation to the best of our abilities.
The Braham Fire Department currently has an ISO rating of a 5 for the City of Braham.
Police
The Braham Police Department is committed to actively partnering with the community in order to protect life and property, innovatively solving problems, and enhancing the safety and quality of life in the Braham community and surrounding area we serve.
Public Works
The Public Works Department is responsible for street maintenance, ground maintenance, and park maintenance. Maintenance includes patching, seal coating, mowing of road sides & City parks, street sweeping, and snow and ice removal from City streets.
Water/Wastewater
The City of Braham currently contracts with PeopleService for our water and wastewater operations and maintenance. The Administration Department is responsible for the billing and record keeping of residential and business water/sewer service accounts.
Home Town Liquor
Home Town Liquor is owned and operated by the City of Braham. Home Town Liquor offers beer, liquor, wine, non-alcoholic drinks, pop, cigarettes, tobacco products, lottery tickets and ice with profits going back into the City of Braham.
