Visual Arts is the focus of After School Elective in Braham

Braham CAPP, comprehensive arts planning program, will once again offer its annual after-school visual arts electives from January 31 through March 21, 2006. Students in grades five through eight may register for the sessions through Braham Community Education. Connie Reilly and Barb Dreyer, artists and owners of Up North Clay Works are the teachers.

The classes will focus on Native American mask making in clay; block printing, charcoal drawing cartooning, marbling and decoupage boxes. Each session includes design instruction, plus guidance using various materials. Students create, draw, design and make art.

This is sponsored by Braham CAPP, with registration assistance from Community Education. For more information call 320-396-2677.

After the firing and glazing processes, they will adorn the masks with feathers, bones and natural objects, a regular feature in the Up North Clay Works designs. Reilly is pictured with her son.
